Autori

The article briefly deals with the situation of bioethics in USA, namely in the light of personalist approach. In the actual context, characterised by marked pluralism, that becomes concrete in a widespread utilitarianism and juspositivism, moral norms are conceived as either the result of a social agreement or arbitrary imposition by an authority.

The Author shows that the personalist approach rooted on objective natu- re and dignity of the human person could obviate the incongruousnesses of relativism and secularisation, through a series of examples concerning issues as contraception, euthanasia, sterilisation, reproductive technologies.
