L'articolo si propone di suggerire alcune linee etiche direttive in tema di diagnosi genetica sui lavoratori alla luce dei principi della bioetica personalista, tenendo conto del contributo dei più importanti documenti giuridici europei e statunitensi. La riflessione etico-giuridica si muove sulla base delle recenti acquisizioni scientifiche a proposito dell'associazione fra status genetico e malattie professionali, e si basa su vari parametri, fra cui il grado di certezza di tale associazione, la gravità della malattia e le finalità del test diagnostico.
