On 5 May 1980 the Supreme Authorities of the S.C. for the Faith signed a Declaration on Euthanasia with the approval and mandate of the Holy Pontiff, but it was published in L'Osservatore Romano on 26 June, when in Urbe 'calores maximi esse solent', and all over the world journalistic activity was slowed down due to the holidays; there was no presentation in the press room which documents of this kind usually enjoy.
