Talking about the hospital today in Italy is not easy. Its place in current health legislation might seem fairly straightforward but, in fact, several proposals have been put forward from many quarters for a revision of its place within the National Health System (NHS). Therefore, one cannot overgeneralize or trivialize what concerns it since it is a dynamic structure that has changed over time and is continuously changing, including in terms of conceptual interpretations, in the NHS.
