The recent publication of the document on pastoral health care by the CEI offers the chance to see at what point we find this sector in the presence and action of the church in Italy. The "lines of pastoral health" are joined, in harmonious synthesis, by the innovative maturation of the post-conciliar period.  One now hopes for a more organic, more multidimensional and more participative health pastoral. All the topics of this pastoral are delineated and complete, taking into account the more recent ecclesial indications and the fruit of the pastoral experience in the last few years. In the light of this document, the approach to the sick acquires new forms that reflect greater assistance to the sick, not only in direct action, but also through a just influence on the socio-political aspects of a country.
