Authors

After mentioning the progress in technical assistance towards the recovery of sexual capacity in people with lesioned spinal marrow, the author concentrates on the conditions necessary so that this kind of assistance does not exclusively favour the genitalia creating a separation from the deeply personal meaning of sexuality. It therefore states that sexuality is above all a capacity of personal donation. It shows how sexual capacity therapy which focuses exclusively on the genitalia produces a purely egoistic vision of sexuality in the sick person, thus leading to a regression in emotional and sexual maturation.
