Authors

After outlining the problem of informed consent from a legai and ethical point of view, the author points out the importance of infonned social consent. The pubblic misinformation regarding the posstbilities and the real limits of medicine is considered one of the main causes of the present conflict between physicians and society, which can be seen in the mass media's accusing campaigns and in the more and more frequent criminal and civil judicial cases.
