Bioethics education: theoretical presuppositions and practical experiences.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to frame the core issues concerning the field in increasing development of bioethics education. The first part of the paper is focused on the theoretical presuppositions with particular reference to the relation between epistemological and pedagogical level.

The second part is focused on the explanation of the educational parameters of some practical experiences regarding both the basic education and the continuing education; both in health-care perspective and in philosophical perspective. This explanation includes for each experience: aims, methods, contents and evaluation.

The last part of the paper is devoted to suggest and discuss some strategies which can promote the ethical reasoning and the moral sensibility. These strategies include: a. the reciprocity between personal and cultural dimension; b. the interaction between particular cases and general principles; c. an environment of mutual respect, which can contribute to the develop an aptitude of tolerance and responsibility.
